Visions is a metro Detroit 501(c) (3) video production company that has been in business the past 20 years producing national and international public affairs documentaries. Geyer's most recent hour long documentary is entitled, "Our Fires Still Burn: The Native American Experience ".
The project will focus on developing a deeper understanding and appreciation of the complexity of creation and the connection and dependence humans have upon the natural world. The relationships we share with our natural surroundings can be demonstrated with any of the natural resources on our planet, however the management of our remaining valuable forested lands will be used to highlight the connections we require for the sustenance of life. The intent of this documentary is to present the importance of needed adjustments in educating our people in the necessity of living in balance with Earth and her capabilities. Our Native American brothers and sisters lived as a part of nature and developed an understanding of the natural surroundings, which can provide wisdom to help citizens throughout the world, find solutions to living in balance with Mother Earth. With over 70% of all living organisms depending on forests for the sustenance of life, future management of our remaining forests must adjust to focus on the health and diversity of the individual forest communities. Our expanding world population will present significant increased pressure on our currently forested lands which are being lost at the rate of 20 football fields every minute, worldwide. Do we have a problem? Can we afford to continue this ridiculous political debate over the obvious impacts humans have had on our environment? There is little doubt in my mind, that this political debate is based completely on selfish, greedy desires to profit at the expense of our natural environment! If you are in a position to contribute to the production of this much needed documentary, please let me know and I will send you a copy of the grant proposal. All contributions are tax deductible. Thanks much!
